Episode 9: Pop Culture with a side of Schnitzel

This week on Pop Culture Mondays on Thursdays, Brooke is riding solo, coming to you from the beautiful city of Hamburg, Germany. She opens the show briefly talking about the tragic shooting in Buffalo and points out the media's racial bias when they describe perpetrators of violence as boys vs men based on the color of their skin.  We then turn to lighter happenings in the world of pop culture: model Cara Delevingne's bizarre fascination with Megan Thee Stallion at the Billboard Music Awards and Anna Wintour’s hilarious reaction to being carded outside an event venue. And then of course we have the never-ending saga of Elon’s Twitter takeover, only this week the tech titan appears to be backtracking saying he won’t go through with the purchase unless Twitter eliminates more bots.  In other “endless drama” news, Amber Heard is cross examined by Johnny Depp’s legal team and some pretty questionable photos are discussed… Pivoting to the amazing outpouring of pro-choice sentiment across the nation, Brooke wonders if we may have reached a point where activism on TikTok and socials getting over saturated and losing some of its potency?  And we end with a big viral make up moment!  That’s this week on Pop Culture Mondays on Thursdays!
